The Dean’s 咨询委员会 on Diversity and 包容 is charged with advancing diversity in the 医学院. Specifically, the committee will:
- Periodically review the Diversity and 包容 Policy, including identification of mission-appropriate diversity categories for medical students, 教师 and 高级行政人员.
- Ensure the school has effective policies and practices in place, 并参与到持续的, 系统的, and focused recruitment and retention activities to achieve mission-appropriate diversity outcomes among students, 教师, 高级行政人员, and other relevant members of its academic community.
- 复习策略, programs and outcomes related to recruitment and retention of medical students, 教师, and senior administrative leadership from COM-defined diversity categories.
- Review activities related to the administration and delivery of programs (e.g. pipeline programs) aimed at developing a diverse pool of medical school applicants, 本地和全国.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness (including outcome data) of pipeline programs and of other programs to support school-defined diversity among students, 教师, and 高级行政人员.
- Conduct an annual review of the progress of departmental diversity and inclusion action plans.
- Prepare an annual report to be shared with university leadership, 教师, and students.
- Align the work of the committee and 医学院 efforts in advancing diversity with the university-wide Strategic Plan for Diversity.
